It all started with a fabric and went from there..
When I started decorating my first home I was so excited because I knew that there was no longer a lease and I could really invest in things that fit just where they need to in this house. I put a lot of time and detail decorating my home so that it truly represented my personality and desire to be creative.
In this post you’ll find pictures of my guest room, details on the items, and how it all came together to make this room a happy place to be!
I fell in LOVE with the watercolor floral the minute I saw it when Thibaut first released the Summer House collection. I knew I had to use it in my new home and I’m pretty sure I had it on order before my offer was even accepted! HA!
I decided to use it as the headboard in my guest room and started looking for pillow fabric to go with it. I bought these Ballard Design leopard pillows to go in my master bedroom in my previous home and never intended to use them in my guest room. In fact I spent so much time planning around them being in my living room. But I happened to throw it on the bed next to the floral fabric and the rest is history! I change out the lumbar on this bed from time to time to mix it up. The fun one in these pictures is from the Opal House collection at Target!
The bamboo desk and bookshelf I have in this room were lucky thrift store finds! (I have a matching dresser in my master) I found the round mirror at Target and the fun stripe lamp is Kate Spade.
My drapery panels are simple white ones from Pottery Barn and the rods are West Elm. I LOVE these rods so much I used them in my master as well. I added tie-backs to the curtains using a black and white trim.
In the corner I have an acrylic chair with a turquoise velvet pillow to highlight the background of the floral fabric and because I love the leopard print so much I used it again to recover a skirted vanity stool that sits in front of my desk.
My hope for this room is that all my guest feel welcomed in this bright and happy room. I made sure to fill it with color, pictures, and comfy white bedding to make their stay enjoyable. I have to admit I’ve slept in there a time or two just because it’s so inviting.
Are you ready to do the same to your guest room? Let’s get started!
